Pastor Karl Leukert and the congregation of Community Seventh-day Adventist Church are helping to sponsor a life-sized model of the Old Testament tabernacle that Moses built called Messiah’s Mansion.
Coming to the area next week, the purpose is centered around one main theme, the Gospel in symbols. The illustration of the plan of salvation shows how it was demonstrated to ancient Israel over 3,000 years ago, according to a news release.
The sanctuary tour is broken into five sections, The Overview, The Courtyard, The Holy Place, The Most Holy Place and The High Priest, each lasting about 15 minutes. A guide will explain the symbols and how each one brings to life events in the past and events prophesied for the future: the baptism, crucifixion, an the resurrection of Christ, His ministry in heaven and what God wants for our future, according to the news release.
The traveling exhibit is operated by the staff and students of Oklahoma Academy in Harrah, Okla. The students along with many volunteers have completed 46 exhibits in 15 states, Canada and Jamaica, according to the news release.
Free tours and parking of Messiah’s Mansion at 4626 Camp Bianchi Road, off Highway 19 South, Meridian, will be available from 1-7 p.m. Sept. 5-11. Buses and groups are welcome. There are openings in the mornings for special groups to have personal tours.
