Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 6 a.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday:

• Ms. Compulsory School Attendance Law – Shonteika Lazonia Erving, 25, 1719 Hwy. 19N, Meridian.

• Aggravated assault – Ernest Scott Jr., 19, 4389 Blue Top Road, Meridian.

• Simple assault/threat – Kenneth Thomas, born in 1995, 2447 4th Ave., Meridian.

• Driving under the influence/first offense – Lashun C. Roberts, born in 1973, 275 Moses Grant Rd., York, Ala.

• Simple assault on a minor/two counts – Joseph L. Ward, born in 1981, 1624 9th Ave. F-16, Meridian. Ward is also charged with indecent exposure/two counts.

• Petit larceny – Terry Williams, born in 1989, 298 11th St., Meridian.

The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Tuesday to Wednesday:

Auto burglary

• 3400 block of 5th St. at 7 a.m.

• Meridian Police responded to 2 shots fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was not any evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday.

• Possession of methamphetamine – Michelle Renee Hinson, 48, 1070 Boyette Road, Meridian.

• Driving under the influence/first offense – Jeremy Drew McGowin, 19, 2258 Long Creek Road, Meridian. McGowin is also charged with careless driving, alcoholic beverage possession under 21.

• Simple assault on a police officer/two counts – Leathel Naylor, 49, 4301 Leroy Naylor Road, Lauderdale. Naylor is also charged with disorderly conduct/failure to obey law enforcement officer.

• Felony DUI – Brian Keith Savage, 45, 1135 A Bynum Road, Meridian.

• Disturbance of family – Michael Warthman, 42, 1278 A Campground Road A, Lauderdale.

• Disturbance of family – Phillip John Warthman, 39, 2178 A Campground Road, Lauderdale.

• Failure to appear/four counts – Karen Bernice Yates, 44, 1904 10th Ave., Meridian.

The Meridian Fire Departments reported the following calls from Tuesday through Wednesday:

• Arcing/shorted electrical equipment, A Place.

• Vehicle fire, South Frontage Road.

• Vehicle accident, 20th St.

• False alarm, 49th Ave.

The Lauderdale County Volunteer Fire Departments reported the following calls from Tuesday through Wednesday:

• Accident with injuries, CR 350 (Clarkdale).

• Brush fire, Stuckey Bridge Road (Meehan).
