Monday, he appeared before a judge for a preliminary hearing. Dustin Markham, who works as a defender in the county justice court, said that Pace’s bond remained at $100,000.

Lauderdale County deputies responded to a 911 call about a domestic disturbance came around 10:20 p.m. Friday. When deputies arrived at the home, they found Marsha Danielle Pace unresponsive after an apparent gunshot wound to the head. She was taken by Metro Ambulance to a hospital, where she died, Lauderdale County Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun said.

A 10-year-old child was home at the time of shooting but suffered no injuries, Calhoun said.

Calhoun said the residence and couple had no history of calls to law enforcement and confirmed that Pace remained in custody Monday morning.
