Smith entered the store, placed merchandise on the counter and “when the register was opened by a clerk (Smith) brandished a knife,” Sheriff Sollie said.
The department issued warrants for Smith’s arrest on charges for armed robbery and kidnapping, with additional charges possible, Sollie said.
Sollie said evidence included the merchandise left behind and video footage.
“We’re working with the Meridian Police Department because they had a similar case last week,” Sollie said.
