A Meridian City School District was involved in an accident shortly before 7:30 Thursday morning at 8th Street and 45th Avenue.
The bus was traveling north on 45th Avenue when it struck an eastbound Buick sedan on the front passenger’s side.
Damage to the bus appeared minimal. The car sustained significant front-end damage.
Sgt. Dareall Thompson, with the Meridian Police Department, said the driver and the passenger of the sedan were injured and taken to a local hospital.
Witnesses said the injuries didn’t appear to be serious.
Thompson said there were students on the bus but none were injured and all were taken to school on another bus.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, Thompson said.
The Meridian Public School District said students on the bus were checked by Metro Ambulance paramedics but reported no injuries, according to a press release.
