After students, visitors and faculty were forced to shelter in place for hours as police investigated, the all clear was given.

However, everyone was advised to leave campus.

Police continued to monitor the university throughout the night.

Authorities say an object struck a window of a campus building but couldn’t confirm it came from a gunshot. The object may have been fired from a hillside above the school.

San Bernardino Police Department Lt. Mike Madden said there was no active shooter on campus, and authorities weren’t sure that shots were fired, KTLA reported.

Classes will resume Thursday.
