Meridian and Lauderdale County residents celebrated the Christmas holidays this weekend with both the town of Marion and city of Meridian holding their annual Christmas parades. The highly anticipated events drew crowds to both municipalities as local businesses, civic organizations, school groups and Santa Claus marched, rode and handed out candy along the parade routes.

Those who missed the festivities, however, are not out of luck as the Collinsville Christmas celebration will be held Saturday, Dec. 14. The festivities will kick off at 10 a.m. with breakfast with Santa at Collinsville Fire and Rescue, followed by a holiday market with vendors lined up from Collinsville Fire and Rescue to Collinsville Community Club from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
