Residents traveling down Eighth Street should watch out for detour signs after the city of Meridian announced Wednesday a portion of the road will be closed to traffic.

In a news release, the city said Eighth Street between 28th and 29th avenues will be closed until further notice as line maintenance will be working in the area.

Detour signage will be posted to help residents navigate around the closure, the city said.
