On Sunday evening, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Hood, who was traded to the Trail Blazers in early February from the Cleveland Cavaliers, agreed to a two-year, $16 million contract with Portland. He finished the 2018-19 season with 11.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

He had a standout postseason performance in Game 6 of the Trail Blazers’ second-round series against the Denver Nuggets when he scored 25 points, a career playoff high for him. The Trail Blazers won that game 119-108. He also scored 19 points in Game 3 of the series, hitting the decisive 3-pointer with 17.8 seconds remaining in the fourth overtime to help Portland edge Denver 140-137.

NBA free agents cannot officially sign a contract until July 6 but can agree to terms ahead of that date.
