West Lauderdale’s Partridge allows just one baserunner, strikes out 10 as Knights beat Quitman 10-0

COLLINSVILLE — Kameron Partridge allowed just one baserunner as the West Lauderdale pitcher shut out Quitman in six innings to help the Knights to a 10-0 victory Friday night.

Partridge finished with 10 strikeouts in six innings of work and also doubled at the plate. His only baserunner allowed came when the Panthers’ Levi Myrick was hit by a pitch. The game ended when the Knights scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, triggering the 10-runs-after-five mercy rule.

Mason Willis finished 3-for-3 with a double, a walk and three RBIs for West Lauderdale. Brett Mason was 2-for-3 with a double, Ben Ethridge finished 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, and Tanner Parker was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Braden Luke doubled and was intentionally walked, and Cole Boswell had an RBI triple for the Knights.

Tyler Glass took the loss for Quitman, giving up five runs, three earned, on nine hits and two walks in four innings of work. Jax Porter surrendered five runs, four earned, on four hits and two walks in 1 1/3 innings of relief, and Jed Lewis pitched 1/3 of an inning for Quitman, giving up one hit.

West Lauderdale (18-3, 8-0) will take on Northeast Jones at home Tuesday and on the road next Friday in two key games that will determine the Region 5-4A champion. Quitman (4-16, 1-7) play at Clarkdale and Meridian Saturday and will travel to Mendenhall Tuesday.
