Students currently enrolled at East Mississippi Community College can register now for the “Maymester,” summer intensive and fall terms.          

“Basically, this allows our students an opportunity to sign up early for the classes they want,” EMCC Dean of Students Gina Thompson said. “This will put them ahead of our new students who will be coming in when registration opens up to everyone on April 1.”

Classes will be taught online and at the Golden Triangle and Scooba campuses.

Current students can register online or find out who their advisor is through their LEO account. Or they can drop by the Success Center in the Hawkins Building on the Scooba campus or room 507 of the student union on the Golden Triangle campus to visit with an advisor in person.

This will be the second year EMCC has offered Maymester courses, which are three weeks in duration.

“Maymester is a part of summer school and even if students have used up their financial aid for the spring semester, they should have financial aid available for the summer, which can be applied to Maymester,” Thompson said. “This is a great way for students to pick up an extra class.”

Maymester begins May 6 and runs through May 24. Classes meet Monday through Friday. Summer Intensive Term 1 runs from June 3 to June 27. Summer Intensive Term II begins July 1 and ends July 25.
