JUSTICE COURT JUDGE PLACE 1

Paul Payne

Residence: Philadelphia, Neshoba County.

Party: Republican.

Office sought: Justice Court Judge Place 1.

Education: High school graduate.

Work experience: Over 25 years in law enforcement; over 30 years with AT&T.

Public offices held: Serving my fourth term as constable.

Why are you running now: For years Neshoba County has been blessed with justice court judges that care about their community while serving and enforcing the law before them. It’s been a dream of mine to follow in their distinctive footsteps and serve in as what’s known as the “People’s” court.

Why are you a good candidate: I feel like that I’m a good candidate for this position because I’ve been on the law enforcement side for many years. I know how hard it is and what it takes for these officers to bring their cases to court… I will be a fair and honest judge given the opportunity. I will work hard with our sheriff and the Judge Of Place 2 to make sure we cut down on repeat offenders as much as we can following the letter of the Law.

Why are you running: I am seeking re-election to continue the fight for change in our local justice system that I promised four years ago.

Why are you a good candidate: My first term in office has allowed me to see some of the best and worst Neshoba County has to offer. This personal insight has kept me motivated to keep pushing for change in our communities. I read and study our laws to stay as informed as possible to vindicate and protect the innocent, the integrity of office and Neshoba County’s future. I am fair, steady and determined. Together, we will finish this fight.
