Student athletes once again took to the field as the 2024 high school football season continued with matchups on Thursday and Friday this week.
Here is a look at the scores:
Thursday
– Clarkdale took a shutout win in a home game against Newton with a final score of 35-0.
– Northeast Lauderdale fell to visiting Choctaw Central in a 28-7 loss.
– Southeast Lauderdale was defeated by Kemper County with a final score of 24-0.
Friday
– Meridian fell to Brandon 42-14 in a Friday contest at Ray Stadium.
– West Lauderdale found victory against Newton County, with a final score of 33-21 in Decatur.
– Lamar School took a one-point win over Adams County Christian in the first round of the MAIS Class 5A Playoffs, ending the game 21-20.
