A Tuesday afternoon house fire in Meridian is being investigated as a possible arson. 

Firefighters responded to the fire near 19th Street and 23rd Ave. around 4 p.m., MFD Deputy Chief Jason Collier said. Collier said the fire, which was put out in few minutes, may have started in the front of the home. No injuries were reported.  

A person was taken into custody in connection with the fire, said Kenny Watson, an investigator with the fire department. The individual had not yet been formally charged Tuesday evening, said MPD Sgt. Dareall Thompson.
