Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness routine or entertain your artistic side there are several upcoming activities for you to check out. The Healthy Hometown Challenge 2019 will have a kick off from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. Saturday at Bonita Lakes Mall in the center court.

This is Meridian’s free annual health and fitness challenge to begin the new year by getting healthier, try new things and win some great prizes. This six-week challenge has weekly giveaways, free events, tips and tricks for local industry leaders and more. If you haven’t experienced the Jim Henson Exhibition Imagination Unlimited going on at the Mississippi Performing Arts + Experience, don’t miss out on these first hand visitor experience exploring Jim Henson’s groundbreaking work for film and television and his transformative on poplar culture. The exhibit will continue through May 4 with members free, $5 non-member and kids five and under free.

Also taking place Saturday, we welcome our neighbors from Laurel for Mississippi Day, hosted by The Max.

Another exciting hands on event at The Max will be printmaking with Sean Starwars from 10 a.m. -4 p.m on Feb. 2 as the Laurel native takes you into a full day workshop in linoleum printmaking.
