Choctaw police respond to bank robbery, bomb threats

Full details about a robbery, lockdown and bomb threats in the Choctaw area on Tuesday haven’t been released to the public but the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians reported no injuries and two arrests.
The Choctaw Police Department responded to a robbery at the Trustmark Bank Tuesday morning. A suspect fled on foot near tribal schools, prompting a lockdown before police arrested the suspect and an accomplice, according to an emailed statement from the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

“The robbery is under investigation. No additional information will be provided at this time,” the statement said.
The statement didn’t include a time for the robbery, name of the suspects or whether the suspects had weapons.
A second statement described two Choctaw Tribal elementary school bomb threats Tuesday morning that, per protocol, led to student evacuations. Buses transported students to a secondary location where parents could pick up the children while police searched the campus.
“The incident is under investigation. Student and staff safety are the number one priority and therefore all threats are taken seriously. No additional information will be provided at this time,” the statement said.
The statement didn’t include a time of the threats or whether the threats were found to be credible by police.
