Meridian Police Department on Thursday announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with unrelated incidents earlier this week.

 

Elisha Deaton, 30, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault following an altercation at Hampton Inn on Tuesday. Bond for Deaton was set at $50,000, announced Acting Capt. Dareall Thompson.

 

Also in custody is Fredrick Eugene Porter II, who is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, felon in possession of a firearm and felony fleeing, Thompson said.

 

Porter led Meridian officers and law enforcement from several agencies on a high speed chase through downtown Meridian on Thursday. Total bond was set at $520,000.
