Before he had thousands of followers hanging on his every word, Landon Bryant was just a kid in Laurel, making his family laugh.

Now, the former art teacher-turned-viral comedian is turning those stories into a live comedy tour — and Meridian Community College is his next stop.

MCC’s Arts & Letters Series will present Landon Talks on Friday, April 25, at 7 p.m. in the McCain Theater on the MCC campus.

Bryant, known for his Southern charm and relatable humor, has gained a worldwide following on TikTok and Instagram, where he shares funny stories about life in the South. Landon Talks takes those stories from the screen to the stage with real-time comedy and connection.

The artist said his material often comes from everyday life and family moments, while the show offers a mix of storytelling, humor, and observations about Southern culture.

His great-grandmother was a major influence on him, but it was his wife, Kate, who encouraged him to start sharing his opinions about Southern identity on Instagram.

Bryant is also the author of the newly-published book, “Bless Your Heart: A Field Guide to All Things Southern.”

Susie Johnson, director of Arts & Letters Series, said she’s thrilled about Bryant’s appearance on the series’ bill.

“I am beyond excited that viral social media sensation (and neighbor from Laurel) Landon Bryant is coming to MCC to perform his stand-up comedy ‘conversation’ and discuss his fabulous and funny new book,” she said.

She noted Bryant’s tour has been an overwhelming success.

“So we encourage folks to reserve their seats ahead of time,” said Johnson. “We will have a limited supply of books available for a discounted price, or you can bring your own for Landon to sign following the show.”
