Three local nonprofit organizations received extra funding recently as the 100+ Women Who Care of East Mississippi, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of East Mississippi, awarded grants supporting impactful nonprofit organizations in the region.
Grants were awarded to the Mississippi Children’s Museum-Meridian, Stronger Together Foundation and Aldersgate Retirement Community.
The 100+ Women Who Care organization operates through an annual membership model, where 100% of dues contribute to two grant cycles each year. Members nominate local nonprofits during each cycle, and three are selected through a lottery drawing. Members then vote to determine the Impact Award winner.
Members voted to select the Mississippi Children’s Museum-Meridian as the Impact Award winner for this grant cycle, receiving a $5,000 grant. The Stronger Together Foundation and Aldersgate Retirement Community have each been awarded a $500 Giving Back Award in recognition of their contributions to the community.
