Ethan Beard of Meridian recently served as a page for the Mississippi Senate at the state Capitol. Pages generally run errands for officials and Senate staff. Ethan is pictured with Lt. Gov. C. Delbert Hosemann Jr., and Sen. Rod Hickman, who sponsored his visit.

 

Ethan is the son of Gail Beard and attends Meridian High School.

 

When asked about the week, Ethan said, “I enjoyed being in the room where big things happened, but what I truly loved was meeting new people and interacting with them. I learned about almost every page of the process, but also got to know people beyond paging like the workers in the Capitol and a lady at the Supreme Court Museum. They were all incredibly kind, and I could tell they were genuine. I wish I could name more, but honestly, the highlight for me was the people!”
