Enjoy an Evening of Jazz at The MAX

Published 6:29 pm Monday, January 6, 2025

The MAX is hosting An Evening of Jazz this Friday from 6-7 p.m., and all music lovers are invited to take part.

The performers for this event are award winning jazz singer Dr. Pam Confer, whose song “Mississippi Beautiful” inspired former Governor Phil Bryant to declare a statewide holiday in 2019, declaring May 10 as “Mississippi Beautiful Day”.

The second performer is a multi-talented musician and Meridian native, Rodrick D. Fox. Fox is not only a great musician, but he also gives back to the community by teaching children in the public school system.

This will be the third time Confer and Fox are performing together at The MAX. Marketing director for The MAX Gabby Ortiz says that it is in large part due to the positive feedback and attention they bring.

The event will take place inside of The MAX building at the Hall of Fame exhibit. The Max will install a stage and lounge seating for the event to accommodate the performers and audience members.

“You get to sit, buy a few drinks, enjoy music for an hour and a half, get dinner before or after while you’re downtown, and make a good night out of it,” said Ortiz.

The event is free for members of The MAX, and $20 for those who are non-members.
