A series of burglaries that occurred in the Collinsville area over the weekend have led to the arrest of 19-year-old Christian Tyler Rodgers.
According to Lauderdale County Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun, Rodgers is charged with seven felonies, including five counts of burglary, one count of motor vehicle theft and one count of grand larceny. The incidents occurred in four different locations.
“This involved a series of crimes that occurred on Saturday, where he (Rodgers) either broke into out-buildings and stole four-wheelers or motorcycles, or into some residences,” Calhoun said.
Calhoun said deputies were working on two separate cases when they pieced together information gathered separately, which led them to where Rodgers was located. Two juveniles were also involved, but have yet to be charged, he said.
“Currently, the investigation is in the early stages, and appropriate charges will be filed against those juveniles and anyone else the investigation turns up that was involved in the thefts of any of these items,” Calhoun said. “This is once again where help from the community helped us apprehend the individuals, and the vast majority of these items have been returned.”
Rodgers is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Facility, where he is being held on a $55,000 bond.
