Meridian Police Department
The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Friday and 8:43 a.m. Monday:
Misdemeanors
• Disorderly conduct – Willie Brown Jr., 53, 4617 13th St., Meridian. Brown is also charged with contempt of court.
• Driving under the influence (DUI), first offense – Michael Duell, 38, 3993 County Road 150, Quitman. Duell is also charged with disobeying traffic control device, driving with a suspended license and violation of insurance card in vehicle law.
• DUI, first offense – Jose Luis Elizondo, 29, 5414 Aurthur St., Meridian. Elizondo is also charged with running a stop sign, driving without a license, disorderly conduct, false ID information, simple assault and two counts of failure to appear (justice court).
• Possession of marijuana, first offense – Andrew Chandler Hubbard Jr., 36, 3311 First St., Meridian.
• Violation of order or agreement – Glen Lavelle Moffite, 29, 11166 Gilbert Joyner Road, Meridian.
• DUI, first offense – Ramond Lee Reed, 30, 4712 11th St., Meridian.
• Shoplifting – Ava Sheffield, 27, 2101 26th Ave., Meridian.
• Disorderly conduct – Erica Desha Smith, 29, 10415 Rabbit Road, Meridian.
• Simple assault – Takesha R. Chaney, born in 1979, 136 Skyland Drive, Meridian.
• Simple assault – Marissa Mitchell, born in 1984, 1317 19th St., Meridian.
• Simple assault, threat – Sherry B. Barfield, born in 1964, 1718 Marion Road, Meridian.
• Shoplifting – Antonio Williams, born in 1974, 4310 Third St., Meridian.
• Public drunkeness – Donna L. Brown, born in 1980, 2510 42nd Ave., Meridian. Brown is also charged with disorderly conduct.
• Disorderly conduct – Gregory F. Calhoun, born in 1995, 2708 St. Luke St., Meridian.
• Simple assault – Don Allen, born in 1977, 3701 Paulding St., Meridian. Allen is also charged with disorderly conduct.
• Public drunkeness – Joshua A. Robinson, born in 1982, 68 Reynolds St., Meridian.
• Shoplifting – Charles Jones, born in 1987, 2111 27th Ave., Meridian.
• Shoplifting – Joycelyn L. Raine, born in 1963, 6331 44th St., Meridian.
Felony
• Aggravated assault, domestice – Debra Ann Cole, 54, 1407 Frankberry Court, Meridian.
The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Friday to Monday:

• 2800 block of 41st Avenue, Meridian.
• 2900 block of Highway 45 North, Meridian.
Residential Burglaries

• 4200 block of Iris Street, Meridian.
• 1500 block of 44th Avenue, Meridian.
Robbery
• 2300 block of South Frontage Road, Meridian.
Shootings
• 500 block of Water Valley, Meridian.
• 1800 block of 14th Avenue, Meridian.
Meridian police responded to 21 shots-fired calls. Officers were unable to find evidence to support the calls.
Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Friday and 8:43 a.m. Monday:
• DUI, other substance – Robert Eugene Benton, 52, 4732 Valley Road, Meridian. Benton is also charged with fleeing and eluding in a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
• DUI, first offense – William Nicholas Daniels, 27, 8380 VanZyverden Road, Meridian.
• DUI, other substance – Jeffery Davis, 21, 921 27th Ave, Meridian. Davis is also charged with driving without headlights, driving without a license and no liability insurance.
• Contempt for child support – Andrew Roderick Griggs, 29, 2611 Tenth St., Meridian.
• Probation violation/parole – Arthur Ridell Deshawn Hayes, 23, 107 71st Place, Meridian.
• Simple assault, four counts – Frederick Shawanta Hudson, 35, 154 East Broach Road, Daleville. Hudson is also charged with failure to pay (justice court) and two counts of petit larceny.
• DUI, first offense – Rodney Sanchez Lard, 25, 2611 E. Greenluke Road, Lauderdale. Lard is also charged with possession of marijuana, first offense.
• Compulsory school attendance – Barbara Louise Lewis, 39, 107 71st Place, Meridian. Lewis is also being held for outside agency.
• DUI, first offense – Raegan G. Long, 34, 168 County Road 484, Meridian. Long is also charged with careless driving.
• DUI, second offense – Stanley Todd Mattar, 44, 8454 Wilsondale Road, Collinsville. Mattar is also charged with seat-belt violation, driving with a suspended license, child endangerment and violation of insurance card in vehicle law.
• DUI, first offense – Sherry Jean Moss, 52, 902 27th Ave., Meridian.
• DUI, first offense – Kennie Nolan, 33, 2610 11th St., Meridian. Nolan is also charged with driving with a suspended license and no liability insurance.
• Failure to pay child support – Michael Brandon Owens, 36, 1330 B St., Meridian.
• Probation violation/parole – Irvin Andrew Payne, 30, 1309 43rd Ave., Meridian.
• DUI, second offense – Jesse Perez, 26, 519 Belvedere Drive, West Memphis, Ark. Perez is also charged with seat-belt violation, improper equipment, careless driving, driving with a suspended license, no liability insurance, expired tag and failure to yield right of way.
• Probation violation/parole – Mark Reed, 46, meridian. Reed is also being held for outside agency.
• Motor vehicle theft, felony – Milton Chuck Stevens, 32, 3520 Paulding Road, Meridian. Stevens is also charged with uttering forgery.
• Public drunkeness – James Wesley Thomas, 47, 4495 Highway 19 South, Meridian.
• DUI, first offense – Kristy M. Tillman, 37, 584 County Road 151, Quitman. Tillman is also charged with driving without a license.
• Obtaining controlled substance by fraudulant means – Joshua Bradley Traxler, 41, 123 Main St., Quitman. Traxler is also being held for outside agency.
• DUI, other substance – Isaac Douglas Williams, 23, 1816 19th Ave., Meridian. Williams is also charged with possession of marijuana in vehicle.
• DUI, refusal to take test – Ethan Daniel Womack, 25, 8364 King Road, Meridian. Womack is also charged with seat-belt violation, running a stop sign, driving without a license and failure to pay (justice court).

The Mississippi Department of Corrections reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Friday and 8:43 a.m. Monday:

Ambulance runs
Metro Ambulance reported 36 emergency runs Monday at 3 p.m.
Correction – The Oct. 1 edition of the paper showed J.W. Barns, 5200 27th Street, arrested on three counts of violation of property maintenance code. Mr Barns’ name was placed on the arrest docket in error per Meridian Police Department.
