Thomas Crumby

   Funeral services for Mr. Thomas L. Crumby were held Saturday at 12 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church with the Rev. Clay Pope officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Crumby, 94, of Collinsville, passed away Thursday at his residence.

    He was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army and served in World War II. A member of Pine Forest Baptist Church, Mr. Crumby was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, trapping and camping. He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Chalmette, La., where he was employed for 30 years. He will be remembered for his love of his family. Prior to his wife passing away, she asked that he promise her that he would keep the children together, which he fulfilled that promise by the children getting together for family outings that will always be a cherished memory.

    Mr. Crumby is survived by his children: Bobbie Nell Alford, Myra Ann Irwin, Tommy Ray Crumby, Linda Sue Harwell, James Owen Crumby and Dwain Crumby; along with 19 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren and 12 great great- grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Crumby; wife, Minnie Bell Crumby; son, Donald George Crumby; and granddaughter Regina Lynell Sonak.

Pallbearers were Douglas Alford, Donovan Alford, Terrell Irwin, Tommy Irwin, Thomas Crumby, Joel Crumby and Steve Harwell.

    Visitation was Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church.
