The 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back said the program’s successful track record for players at his position played a pivotal in his decision.

“It’s (Defensive Back University),” Lenton said. “I’m excited to be there with the players that are already there. I want to learn a lot and hopefully get on the field as soon as I get down there.”

Lenton originally committed to Mississippi State last November along with teammate Zaire Jones. However, the senior reopened his recruitment after de-committing from the Bulldogs in June.

Lenton is ranked as a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports. The safety chose the Gators over offers from Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

“When I was down there for a visit, all the coaches showed me love and everyone was happy,” Lenton said. “It felt like I was family already.
