ROUNDUP: Clemmons, Northeast Lauderdale beat Louisville

Kariyah Clemmons got the win on the mound for Northeast Lauderdale as the Lady Trojans beat Louisville 21-8 in Thursday night prep softball action at Northeast Lauderdale.

Clemmons, Diamond Harris and Ann-Elise Baty all finished 2-for-4 at the plate for the Lady Trojans.

NESHOBA CENTRAL WINS TWO

Neshoba Central swept a pair of games in the Enterprise spring break tournament, topping Southeast Lauderdale 7-1 and Northwest Rankin 6-4 Friday.

Against Southeast Lauderdale, Lanayah Henry got the win, tossing five innings of one-hit ball and striking out six. Mauhree Jones finished 3-for-3, while Tenly Grisham was 2-for-4 and Kylee Thompson went 2-for-3.

For Southeast Lauderdale, Taylor Williams was 2-for-3.

Against Northwest Rankin, Grisham was 2-for-5, and Thompson finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Charmayne Morris was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Hamaya Fielder doubled.

Elleigh Willis got the win against Northwest Rankin, pitching eight innings and giving up four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out three. The game was tied 4-4 at the end of seven before the Lady Rockets scored two runs in the top of the eighth.

WEST LAUDERDALE WINS TWO

The Lady Knights got a 9-3 win against Puckett and 5-1 victory against Germantown early Friday.

Versus Puckett, Kacey Williams tripled, and Breelyn Cain and Courtney Lewis were both 2-for-4. Kayla Horton and Cain doubled, as did McKinley Maxwell, who went 3-for-4. Carsyn Mott finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Maxwell got the win against Puckett, pitching seven innings and giving up three runs, two earned, on 11 hits and one walk while striking out five.

Against Germantown, Horton and Raegan Brady both doubled, and Brady finished 2-for-3, as did Horton and Lewis.

Cain got the win on the mound, giving up one unearned run on three hits while striking out five.

QUITMAN TIES WITH SEBASTOPOL

Quitman and Sebastopol ended in a 3-3 tie early Friday.

Sydney Myrick homered for the Lady Panthers, and Lynnzie Kennedy pitched seven innings, giving up three runs on six hits and striking out two. 

The Lady Panthers were coming off a 15-8 loss against Southeast Lauderdale Thursday. Against the Lady Tigers, Jesse Miller went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, and Madison Dearman and Kennedy both doubled.
