John Dryden Rawson

Memorial services for John Rawson will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Mediator, with the Rev. Josh Messick officiating. Burial will be in the memorial garden at the church.
Mr. Rawson, 85, of Meridian, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Rawson investigated airplane accidents for the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, and worked for Airbus in the United States. He received the Jerry Lederer Award from the International Society of Air Safety Investigators for outstanding service. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Rawson; children, Lynn James, Shelby Chesney, Angie Romaneski, Jon Gail Kowall, Beth Phillips, Ann Corkery and Rusty Rawson; stepchildren, Eric McNair and Tavia Huseth; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Ada Rawson; sister, Marie Rawson; and brother, Isaac Hudson.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Haiti Fund at the Church of the Mediator.
Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the church.
