Tureaud, Strachan

    Mr. and Mrs. Edward Phillip Tureaud Jr. of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashton Annice, to Samuel Louis Strachan Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Louis Strachan Sr. of Nassau, Bahamas.

    The wedding will be Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, Meridian.

    Ms. Tureaud is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster Greer of DeKalb and Mrs. Annie Tureaud Ramsey of Meridian and the late Mr. Edward Phillip Tureaud Sr.

    The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing, and a 2011 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she received a master of science degree in nursing. She is a 2004 graduate of Meridian High School.     

    Ms. Tureaud is currently pursuing a doctor of nursing practice degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

    While attending USM, she was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She currently serves as vice president of the Central Alabama Nurse Practitioners Association.

     Ms. Tureaud is employed by The University of Alabama at Birmingham as a family nurse practitioner.

    The bridegroom elect is a 2008 graduate of Benedict College and a 2013 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. He is a 2004 graduate of Temple Christian High School.

    Dr. Strachan is currently completing a pediatric residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

    A reception will be held at the Meridian Little Theatre.
