Forbes editor featured speaker

    Forbes Political Economy Editor John Tamny was the featured speaker for the Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum’s Perspective on Business Series on Tuesday at Soulé Steam Works.

    Tamny spoke about the state of the American economy and how the government has influenced the length and extent of depressions and recessions.     Tamny answered questions posed by students from Jonathan Wells’ Senior Government and Economics class at West Lauderdale High School.  

    They students questions ranged from the future of Social Security and the effect of the U.S. Farm Bill. Tamny told told the students he believes their generation will be the one that really moves this country forward and that they will be the entrepreneurs who will develop their own ladders to success.
