Mrs. Goodman, 100, was born on Oct. 7, 1914 in Duckhill, Miss. She passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Feb. 1, 2015 at 5:16 p.m. at her home in Whynot. She was surrounded by family and friends singing some of her favorite hymns.  She gave her life to Christ at the age of thirteen and continued to serve her Lord until she passed away. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a remarkable Godly lady, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Just days before her passing, she quoted the 23rd Psalm.

Mrs. Goodman lived alone in the home she had lived in for seventy-six years. She enjoyed working word-find puzzles and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She celebrated her 90th Birthday at an Atlanta Braves game in Atlanta. She celebrated her 100th Birthday on Oct. 5, 2014 with over one hundred family members and friends attending. She loved everyone and will be greatly missed, but she leaves behind a legacy that will forever be in our hearts. 2 Timothy 4:6-8.

She is survived by four children: Margie Taylor (Jerry) of Whynot, Waymon Goodman (Rita) of Canton, Ga., Rachel Street (David) of Hattiesburg, and Ricky Goodman (Teresa) of Whynot; seven grandchildren: Amy Taylor Branning (Allan) of Whynot, Art Taylor of Toomsuba, Angela Taylor Shields (Timothy) of Naperville, Ill., Honor Goodman Motes (Roddy) of Canton, Ga., Emily Goodman Coffey (Jerry) of Gainesville, Ga., Kara Goodman Morris (Matt) of Woodbine, Ga., and Haley Goodman of Whynot; nine great grandchildren: Brookley Branning Glover (Roger), Bryce Branning, Caitlin Motes, Clay Coffey, Lily Coffey, Logan Shields, Dylan Shields, Camden Shields, and Tyler Morris; one great great grandchild, Leah Kate Motes; one sister, Ruby Linda Waggoner of Belen, N.M.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
