Medical center to serve retirement community

- A groundbreaking was recently held for the new Anderson Family Medical Center – Aldersgate on Poplar Springs Drive.
Methodist Senior Services Aldersgate in partnership with Anderson Regional Medical Center held a ground breaking ceremony for the new Anderson Family Medical Center – Aldersgate at 9 a.m.
The state-of-the-art facility will be located adjacent to Aldersgate Retirement Community at 6694 Poplar Springs Drive in Meridian.
As part of the MSS ministry to provide life-enriching services, Methodist Senior Services is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of its residents and employees. “Having the new Anderson Family Medical Center-Aldersgate located here on our campus will be so convenient for our residents,” said Lawona Broadfoot, executive director of Aldersgate Retirement Community. “This partnership will not only benefit us, but all of Meridian.”
Construction on the clinic began Aug. 18, with an estimated completion date of Jan. 30, 2015.
Anderson’s mission statement of “continuing our heritage of healing and improving life for the people we serve” truly extends throughout the East Mississippi/West Alabama area.
“This partnership continues our mission and allows us to respond to the larger role of population health management in our increasing service area,” said John Anderson, Interim CEO of Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Methodist Senior Services has a 50 year-old tradition of providing housing and services to older adults in Mississippi,” a press release states. “It has one mission: to serve older adults in the spirit of Christian love. Our approximately 1,000 employees and 1,600 volunteers make that mission their prime focus. Today, MSS serves more than 1,700 elders in our 12 independent living, personal care and skilled nursing care retirement communities, with campuses that range from almost the Tennessee line to the Gulf of Mexico.”
