  Funeral services for Sylvia B. Feldman will be held today, Tuesday, at 11:15 a.m. at Newton County Funeral Home North on Highway 15 in Newton. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens, Newton with Newton County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Feldman, 88 of Newton, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.

    Mrs. Feldman served on the hospitality committee at First Baptist Church of Newton and was a member of the Newton Arts Council. She was also a member of two local bridge clubs for years. She enjoyed visiting the local nursing facilities on a regular basis.

    Survivors include her husband, Sam Feldman, to whom she was married 66 years; two sons, David Feldman (Becky) of Newton and Lee Feldman (Janice) of Brandon; one daughter, Pamela Smith of Jackson; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Bishop and Sadie Smith Bishop, and one sister, Pauline Christian.

    Pallbearers are Chad Feldman, Laurence Davis, Bob Smith, Ryan Weaver, Brett Feldman, and Blake Feldman.

    Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home.

    In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
