Harper, Creel

    Gary and Sandra Harper of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Valerie Beth to Cody Ryan Creel, son of Greg and Donna Creel of Meridian.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the home of Jimmy and Ann Alexander.

    Ms. Harper is the granddaughter of Estelle Kellum of Meridian and the late Mr. Robert Kellum, the late Mr. Paul Harper and the late Mrs. Ruth Harper.

    The bride-elect is an honors graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where she received her Bachelors of Science in elementary education and the University of West Alabama where she received her Masters of Education in school counseling. She is a graduate of Southeast Lauderdale High School.

    While attending USM, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, named to both Dean’s and President’s list, and completed a student teaching internship in the United Kingdom.

    Ms. Harper is employed by the Meridian Public School System.

    Mr. Creel is the grandson of Jimmy and Ann Alexander of Meridian and Raymond and Shirley Creel of Meridian.

    The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of East Mississippi Community College where he received an associate degree in forestry and attended Mississippi State University. He is a graduate of Lamar High School.

    Mr. Creel is employed by A & B Electric.

    A reception will be held at the Alexander home immediately following the ceremony.
