ECCC Encore Players to present SpongeBob musical 

SpongeBob SquarePants will be riding a wave into Decatur this week as the East Central Community College Encore Players present “Nickelodeon The SpongeBob Musical” at Vickers Fine Arts Auditorium.

Showtimes will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, March 21-23, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, March 24.

Tickets are $10 per person and on sale now. Current ECCC students with a valid ID will be admitted at no cost but must reserve a ticket in advance. To reserve tickets, call 601-635-6424 or email ksanders@eccc.edu. Children age 2 and under do not need a ticket and must not take up a seat.

Tickets not pre-sold will be available nightly first come, first serve.

Leading the cast are Laylah Smith, of Florence, who will take on the role of SpongeBob SquarePants; Cam Gressett, of Chunky, as Patrick Starr; John Luke Johnston, of Forest, as Squidward Tentacles; Brody Lacy, of Sebastopol, as Sandy Cheeks; and Lyss Williamson, of Carthage, as Eugene Krabs. Additional cast members include Posey Palmer, of Philadelphia, as Pearl Krabs; Myles Bridges, of Morton, as Sheldon Plankton; Hannah Eubanks, of Walnut Grove, as Karen the Computer; Victor Coker, of Decatur, as Perch Perkins; Molly Cliburn, of Union, as Patchy the Pirate; Layla Love, of Decatur, as Mrs. Mayor; Zashanti Bender, of Newton, as Mrs. Puff; Pierce Allen Gilbert as Old Man Jenkins, Kenja Wingo as Security Guard/Electric Skate, Dylan Neal as Larry the Lobster, all of Hickory; Jessy Thrash, of Philadelphia, as Electric Skate; Aimee Herd, of Chunky, as Bikini Bottom Citizen; and Brody Lacy, of Philadelphia, as Bikini Bottom Citizen.
