Saturday, Sept. 21

    Mark your calendars – the Long Creek Community Development Club has changed the date of Zero Day. This year, the event will be held September 21 in hopes that better weather will be in store for a day of fun. There will be an array of vendors, activities for the kids to include pony rides and races, and live music. The Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department will be on hand with fire truck displays and a raffle for a Henry Golden Boy 22 LR lever action rifle. Tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. Sept. 21-22

    The 4th Annual Mississippi Gourd Festival will be held in Raleigh, MS, at the Smith County Ag Complex, on September 21 and 22, 2013. The Ag Complex is located just off Hwy. 35 South on SCR 77 (Oil Field Rd.). Festival hours are Sat. 8 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sun. 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Admission is $2 and free for children 12 and under.
