Ex-Ecru police officer set for sentencing

Former Ecru police officer Jody Mac Rock of Pontotoc is scheduled for sentencing Sept. 19 on two civil rights violations.
U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock will sentence Rock in federal court in Aberdeen.
He was accused of depriving two motorists of their civil rights in 2008 by demanding money in exchange for destroying traffic tickets.
The indictment said such action deprives a person of his or her constitutional rights for protection against unreasonable searches and seizures.
