Launa Wright Mott

    Visitation for Launa Wright Mott will be held Tuesday from 12:30 p.m.-3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Calhoun, with services to follow. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Mott, a resident of Ellisville, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012. She was born Oct. 16, 1926, in Meridian, and lived 50 years in Gulfport. She was a resident of Ellisville for the last 13 years. Mrs. Mott was a devout Christian and member on the First Baptist Church Of Calhoun,.  

    She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Mott Rominger (Gene}; son, Walter D. Mott Jr.; grandsons, Joshua F. Seymour, William H. Mott (Rebecca), J. Brett Seymour and Weston D. Mott; stepgranddaughter, Tanya Rominger Bradley (Braxton); five great-grandchildren; nephews, Jesse Roberts, Wayne Roberts, Thad Roberts and Joe Roberts and their families of Collinsville; Vitula Mott, Willie Stan Mott, Rhonda Grissom, Laverne Robertson and Derrick Mott and their families of Ellisville.

    She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Walter Dalton Mott Sr.; parents, Jessie Preston Wright and Armenda Bertrude “Bertie” Arledge Wright; sisters, Juanita Roberts and Alma Harper; brother, Preston P. Wright; and grandson, Robert Dalton “Robby” Seymour.

    The family would also like to thank Odyssey Hospice in Gulfport for their help in caring for Launa.
