A service of worship and Holy Eucharist celebrating the marriage of Jaime Elizabeth Broadhead and Thomas Buckley Levins, both of Savannah, Ga., was held at half past five in the afternoon on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens, Ga. The Reverends Timothy H. Graham and Ellen Echols Purdum officiated.

    Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Milton Dale Broadhead of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Elton Levins of Cobb, Ga.

    Grandparents of the bride are the late Mr. and Mrs. August Valentour of Pearl, Miss. and Mrs. William Eugene Broadhead and the late Mr. Broadhead of Meridian.

    Grandparents of the groom are the late Senator and Mrs. Charles L. Williams, senior, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Levins, all of Warner Robins, Ga.

    Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Sam Polk of Athens, Ga., trumpeter Preston Stanfield of Athens, Ga. and soloist Suzanne Cain of Meridian.  

    The bride, escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore an ivory Robin Jillian European-style designer gown with an A-line silhouette and lace straps. The gown was covered with beaded Alençon lace, and the waistband was made of ruched ivory taffeta adorned with covered buttons. The gown’s chapel train was edged with scalloped Alençon lace. She wore an heirloom Priscilla of Boston chapel length veil of ivory tulle enhanced with Alençon lace. The bride’s garter was hand-sewn using vintage fabrics, ribbons and buttons from her childhood, as well as fabrics from special occasion dresses worn by loved ones. It was designed by the bride’s mother and made by long-time family friend Abby Bendik of Fairhope, Ala. She carried a bouquet of white stargazer lilies, garden roses, white and green hydrangeas, stock, lisianthus and green aspidistra leaves hand-tied and wrapped with the beaded lace sleeve of her mother’s wedding gown.

    Maid of Honor was Elizabeth Burch Reinhardt of Charlotte, N.C. Matron of Honor was Dorothy Freeman Self of Greenville, S.C. Bridesmaids were Debra Elizabeth Burry, sister-in-law of the bride, of Simpsonville, S.C., Courtney Swan Camferdam of Charleston, S.C., Mary Kathryn Covert of Washington, D.C., Catherine Klein Denham of St. Simons, Ga. and Amy Donovan Jacques of New York, N.Y. The attendants wore taffeta tanked ball gowns that were charcoal gray, and they carried hand-tied bouquets of white and green hydrangeas.

    Best Man was Edward Elton Levins, father of the groom, of Cobb, Ga. Groomsmen were Jason Thomas Andrise of Smyrna, Ga., John Preston Broadhead, brother of the bride, of Simpsonville, S.C., Stephen Lee Coxen of Conyers, Ga., Daniel Stephenson Groce of Sandy Springs, Ga., Kurtis Dale Houser and Whit Johnson Wood, both of Atlanta. Ushers were James D. Peters of Watkinsville, Ga., Gray Reese, III of Alpharetta, Ga., Shannon Dallas Sneed of Covington, Ga. and Jason Westbrook of Fortson, Ga.

    Crucifer for the wedding was Victoria Tiffani Boyken of Starkville, Miss. Readers were Megan Mamalakis Hollis of Savannah, Ga. and Carl Ashton Blount, IV of Athens, Ga. Greeting guests beneath the church’s transept were Katie Palmer Hummel of Augusta, Ga., Paige Ann Quaritius of Charlotte, N.C. and Mary Caroline Toher of Atlanta.

    After the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a seated dinner at Athens Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Klein of Athens, Ga. greeted guests, and Laura Brooks Huff and Meredith Clair Huff of Meridian served as registry attendants. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed the music of Reunion, a dance band from Milledgeville, Ga. To add a special touch to the table displaying the wedding cake, Annice Brewer of Meridian re-designed the bride’s mother’s wedding dress into a lace tablecloth.

    Following a honeymoon to Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica, the couple is at home in Savannah, Ga. where the bride is employed by Jackson Spalding, a marketing communications firm based in Atlanta, and the groom is an attorney with the law firm Claiborne & Surmay, P.C.
