Mr. and Mrs. Jace Andrew Hill (Mrs. Hill is the former An Howard Schubert)

    An Howard Schubert and Jace Andrew Hill were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at 7 p.m., at First Methodist Church in West Point. The double-ring ceremony was conducted by the Revs. Richard Payne Wiman and Edward Harris Bond.

    Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas William Bond and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tatum Moore, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Howard Hill of Meridian.

    Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. James Edward Howard and the late Mr. Howard and Mr. and Mrs. John David Schubert.

    Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl Hill Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvis Earl Wedgworth.

    Nuptial music was provided by Polly Hunter Grimes, organist; Terri Lauren Blissard, pianist; Marinelle Schubert Broadway, harpist; Austin Kent Sorey, pianist; Laura Bond Sorey, soloist; and James Strickland Miller, soloist. 

    Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory re-embroidered Alencon lace over charmeuse. The sheath gown featured a Juliet neckline and a deep keyhole back with a godet skirt that drifted into a chapel-length train. She wore her mother’s illusion veil edged in beaded re-embroidered Alencon lace.

    Her pearl and cameo earrings were designed by the bride using cameos made in Italy that were a gift from her mother. The bride’s bouquet of cascading Heiress, Amelia and Vendela roses interspersed with white hydrangeas, stock, and Southern smilax was tied together by her grandmother’s handkerchief, which was handmade, and hand embroidered. A family heirloom sixpence was borrowed from the bride’s aunt and worn in her shoe.

    Attending the bride as maids of honor were Pamela Marie Campbell and Carmen Marie Thompson. 

    Bridesmaids were Mary Frances Anthony, Miriam Griffin Bond, Mary Elizabeth Broadway, Mary Frances Faucette, Sallie Marie Hollister, Rachel Anne Lokey, Elizabeth Brooks McCrory, Kathleen Dubois Pigg, Alexander Claire Schubert, Jessica Baker Stubbs and Katherine Mackenzie Youngblood.  

    Miss Layton Cathryn Wedgworth served as flower girl. 

     Dustin Joseph Hill, the bridegroom’s brother, served as best man. 

    Groomsmen were Richmond Lavern Alexander IV, Jay Richard Barry, Joshua Harris Bond, Thomas Fouche’ Bond, William Fraley Bond, William Robert Carter, Andrew Michael Degener, Joseph Leland Harrison, William Wilson Kahlmus, John Monroe Mayfield Jr., William Winston Powell and David Eric Williams.

    Program attendants were Cadi Denise Stigler Thompson and Carley Houpt Klaus.

    Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Old Waverly Golf Club.

    On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents entertained the wedding party and family with a dinner party at Old Waverly Golf Club.

    A wedding day brunch was given by a host of family friends for the wedding party and out-of-town guests.

    The bride and her attendants were honored with a luncheon on the day before the wedding at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carey Bryan Prather.

    Following a wedding trip to Saint Lucia, the couple is at home in Meridian.
