Holiday scenes spread festive cheer

- Before heading off on his Christmas Eve journey, Santa Claus stopped in at the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library Friday to read stories to children and rest up for is big day.
A light display on Minnow Bucket Road depicts Santa Claus driving a lawnmower. It is one of dozens of displays put up each year, drawing hundreds of visitors to Meridian and Lauderdale County.
Visits from Santa Claus, colorful Christmas lights and festive activities have dominated Meridian and Lauderdale County as the community celebrates the Christmas holiday. Hundreds of visitors come to the Queen City annually to take part in its holiday events, such as the Meridian Christmas Parade, Christmas lights on Minnow Bucket Road, Holiday Ale Trail and more.
