Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Griffin

- Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Griffin of Lauderdale recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. A celebration was held at the couple’s home with family and friends in attendance. The Griffins were married in Meridian on Dec. 8, 1951. Mrs. Griffin is the former Jane Floore. The couple, both Kemper County natives, moved to Meridian in the late 1940s when Mrs. Griffin, after graduation began working and Mr. Griffin, after serving in the Navy during World War II continued working. Soon after, they met, married and resided in Meridian for more than five decades. They are the parents of Judy Johnston (Butch), Lisa Kistler (Kent), Donnie Griffin, Dennis Griffin and the late David Griffin; and grandparents of Christy Holyfield (Lance), Chad Woodall and Clark Kistler. Mr. Griffin retired from Delco Remy and Mrs. Griffin from Peavey Electronics. Over the years, the couple has enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with friends and family. They are best known for their hospitality, story-telling and fun loving dispositions.
