With the upcoming Meridian Community College and Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus College and Job Fair, both those who are looking for a job and those looking to fill a job will have the ideal opportunity to meet.

The third annual College and Job Fair is set for Thursday, Nov. 17, from 3-6 p.m. in the MSU Kahlmus Auditorium, and it offers the opportunity for college and career seekers to interact with academic officials and area business representatives who have job vacancies.

“It’s an opportunity to reach a wide range of applicants,” said Antoinette R. Simmons, human resources assistant with the Morale, Welfare and Recreation at Meridian Naval Air Station. “Participating in the fair puts you face to face with some very qualified and talented job seekers,” she added.

During last year’s event, more than 250 community residents turned out, and employers were pleased. “This is a great career fair, and I’ve been to a lot,” said Ralph Severance, human resource manager for the Meridian region and corporate offices of Citizens National Bank, about the event in 2010.
