Martha Vernell Adams Harris

    Services for Martha Vernell Adams Harris (Nell) will be held Saturday, at 1 p.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Kelsie officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in DeKalb with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.  

    Mrs. Harris, 65, of Russell, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Nell was a resident of Russell and retired from the florist business. Nell loved her kids and grandkids, they were her world. She enjoyed life and was a people person. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

    Survivors include her three daughters: LeAnne Sumerall, Lisa Lee and Teresa Green; four sons: Keith Smith, Alan Smith, Donald Harris and Ronald Harris; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bobby Adams; and a sister, Judy Herring.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Harris; father, Edward Ray (Dick) Adams of DeKalb; mother, Virginia Adams of DeKalb; and granddaughters: Nicki Lee of Talladega, Ala. and Amber; and grandson, Matthew Mooney of Prentiss.

    Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

    Visitation will be today, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
