    Services for James Martin Carlton will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jerry Griffin and Davey Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in Lauderdale Cemetery.

    Mr. Carlton, 64, of Lauderdale, died Monday, May 10, 2010, at his residence. He was employed with Lauderdale County as a road foreman.

    Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Stokes and her husband, Scott, of Meridian; son, Chad Spanel and his wife, Joannie, of Mustang, Okla.; stepson, Joshua Robinson of Meridian; grandchildren, Brad and Sydney Stokes and Jaira, Jordyn and Chase Spanel; brother-in-law, J.V. “Barney” Purvis of Zero Community; nieces, Sabrina Williams and Suzette Landrum, both of Zero Community; and special friends, Thomas White and Brian Tidwell.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Sue Carlton; parents, James Allen and Sudie Mae Carlton; and sister, Sue Carlton Purvis.

    Pallbearers will be Brian Tidwell, Thomas White, Tommy Smith, Gary Miller and Reginald Horn.

    Honorary pallbearers are Neil Carson and George Lanier.
