Mr. and Mrs. Antyone D. Sims (Mrs. Sims is the former L. Monique Willis)

    L. Monique Willis of Altadena, Calif., and Antyone D. Sims of Pasadena, Calif., were married on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Pasadena, with the Rev. Dr. Johnie Carlise officiating.

    Parents of the couple are Bertha Bohannon Willis and the late Sammie L. Willis and Rosemary Sims Lewis and the late Odell Lewis.

    Grandparents of the bride are the late the Rev. and Mrs. Alonzo Lee Bohannon.

    Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Lee Sims.

    Music for the ceremony was provided by Tim Davis and Company.

    The bride was given in marriage by her mother. She wore a wedding dress and a reception dress.

    The wedding dress was a matte satin scoop neck gown which featured a dropped-waist bodice with beading and embroidery. The V-back featured a cathedral-length train.

    The reception dress was a scoop neck satin gown which featured a hand-beaded and embroidered bodice. The dropped waistline was accented with hand-gathered taffeta and a bow.

    Matron of honor was Joann Forte-Wormely of Altadena.

    Bridesmaids were Ashley Williams, Brandi Good, Christina Garcia, Deandra Stewart and Amber Bohannon.

    Junior bridesmaid was Lindsey Sims-Lewis.

    Daisha Murrell and Jade Williams were flower girls.

    LaWayne D. Williams of Pasadena was best man.

    Groomsmen were Damond Stewart, Daniel Stewart, Geo Myricks, Jeff Willis, Khmori House, Brandon McFee, Ricky Crockett and Ronnie Evans.

    Junior groomsman/Bible bearer was Dajai Stewart.

    Darius Stewart was ring bearer.

    A reception was held at Sheraton, Pasadena, following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Joann Forte-Wormely, Marcia Talbert, Akua Searcy and Anita Grady.

    The couple will take a delayed honeymoon in St. Lucia. They currently reside in Altadena.
