Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Gunter Cain (Mrs. Cain is the former Lacey Elizabeth Cook)

    Lacey Elizabeth Cook and Andrew Gunter Cain were married Saturday, July 17, 2010, at The South in Jackson. The Rev. Dr. Donald P. Fortenberry conducted the double-ring ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Nelson Cook of Meridian.

    She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil B. Matheney of Jackson and the late Dr. and Mrs. Ferris E. Cook of San Antonio, Texas.

    The bridegroom is the son of the late Mr. Michael Steele, Mrs. Nell Steele of Kosciusko and Mr. Richard Cain of Ackerman.

    He is the grandson of the late Col. and Mrs. Lynn Steele of Montgomery, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gowan of McAdams and the late Mr. and Mrs. Troy Cain of Sallis.

    Nuptial music was provided by violinists, Vince Massimino and Tom Lowe, Nan Whitney on viola, and Nancy Bateman on cello.

    Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown made of ivory silk organza. Bias cut bands of organza asymmetrically encircled the contoured strapless bodice and were bound at the waistline with a champagne satin belt centered with organza roses, touched with sprays of netting and pearlized sequins.  She wore a fingertip-length veil of champagne beaded illusion. She carried a bouquet of white peonies wrapped with torn ribbons of cream dupioni silk adorned with a blue cameo.

    Jordan Elizabeth Willett and Carrie McDonnell Wadlington served as maid and matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Cassandra Bess Scrivner, Lauren Pigford Lagrone, Courtney Shannon Costello and Pamela Ruth Beidleman.

    Shereen Mock Cook, sister-in-law of the bride, served as reader in the ceremony.

    Terri Clair Cain, niece of the bridegroom, served as flower girl.

    Program attendants were Anna Susan Wadlington and Kevan Elizabeth Tucker.

    Richard Bradley Cain, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man.

    Groomsmen were Logan Alan Cheek, Jacob Myers Peeler, Nicholas Allen Cagle, Taylor Louis Casey and Nickolas James Fowler.

    Ushers were Steven Holland Myers II, Travis Stuart Scharr, William Austin Hester III, and Edward Cameron Bryant.

    Ring bearer was Abraham Ripley Cook, nephew of the bride, carried by his father, Anderson McCall Cook, brother of the bride.

    Wedding direction and event coordination was provided by Shanna Lumpkin of Shanna Lumpkin Events.

    Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at The South. Wendy Putt of Fresh-Cut Floral & Catering created the Southern-themed cuisine.

Class Reunion from Kosciusko served as entertainment.     Following a honeymoon to Playa Mujeres, Mexico, the couple is at home in Jackson, where the bridegroom is pursuing a doctorate of medicine from University of Mississippi Medical Center and the bride is employed by VIP Jackson Magazine.
