Mr. Threatt, Miss Harmon

 

    Robert Gary Harmon of Bailey announces the engagement of his daughter, Elizabeth Anne, to Patrick Lee Threatt, son of Victor and Gayle Threatt of Meridian. Miss Harmon is the daughter of the late Rebecca Harmon.

    The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Marion.

    Miss Harmon is the granddaughter of Bob Williamson and the late Gary Ann Williamson and Louise Harmon and the late Hubert Harmon.

    The bride-elect graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in English from Mississippi State University. She obtained her master’s degree in English and comparative literature with an emphasis in creative writing from the University of Cincinnati. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in English and comparative literature with certificates in women’s studies and deaf studies from the University of Cincinnati. She graduated as valedictorian from West Lauderdale High School in 2002.

    Miss Harmon is currently employed by the University of Cincinnati.

    Mr. Threatt is the grandson of the late Mertis R. and Juanita Vaughn and Malcolm and Evelyn Threatt.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in history with a geography minor from Mississippi State University. He received his master’s degree in geosciences with an emphasis in geography from MSU. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in geography from the University of Cincinnati. He graduated with honors from Northeast Lauderdale High School in 2000.

    Mr. Threatt is employed by the University of Cincinnati and is a first lieutenant in the Mississippi Air National Guard.

    A reception will follow at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church in Marion.
