McShan is being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Facility on a $2 million bond.

MPSD Superintendent Amy Carter said she wants to thank MPSD Campus Police for their efforts following the shooting last week.

“I want to thank the MPSD Campus Police for the swift apprehension of the suspect,” she said. “Their tireless work shows our commitment to make sure our students and staff are in safe learning environments, which remains our top priority.”

No one was injured in the shooting, which took place early Tuesday morning, and one person was taken into custody shortly afterward. The identity of that suspect has not been released.
