Betty Joyce “Aunt Joyce” Gillis Partridge Woodard

    Services for Betty Joyce Woodard will be today at noon at Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Kemper County, with the Rev. Dr. John Temple officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Woodard, 85, of Meridian, passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at the Christa House.

    Survivors include her husband, Oscar L. “Skinny” Woodard; sister, Mattie Lee Whittington; two special nieces, Judy Ford (Richard) and Regina Sanders; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her first husband, Enos Partridge; parents, Dause and Pearl Gillis; six brothers; five sisters; three nephews; and one niece.

    The family requests memorials be made in her honor to Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, East Mississippi Animal Rescue, or the charity of your choice.

    Pallbearers will be Richard Ford, Richie Ford, Derek Ford, Cole Ford, Brandon Hall and Darrell Gillis. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Ray Dick and Mason Ford.

    There will be no public visitation.
