Mississippi receiver Laquon Treadwell has declared for the NFL draft, three days after catching three touchdown passes in the Sugar Bowl.

The school released a statement announcing Treadwell’s decision on Monday. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound junior leaves Ole Miss with several school records and led the Southeastern Conference with 1,153 yards receiving this season.

Treadwell said in the statement that it was time to take the “next step in my career” and he thanked teammates, coaches and fans “for their unbelievable support since the first day I stepped foot on campus.”

Freeze said in the statement that “it was an honor to have coached Laquon, and our family will miss him greatly.”

Treadwell played all 13 games this season one year after breaking his leg in a game against Auburn.
